Privacy Policy

Soccerdex (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a personal, non-commercial project that lets friends predict the 2026 FIFA World Cup together. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Soccerdex you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. If you sign in with an email magic link instead, we collect only your email address.
• Content you create. The pools you create or join (names and invite codes), your bracket predictions, your display name, and any messages you post in a pool’s chat.
• Notifications. If you choose to enable push notifications, we store the subscription your browser provides so we can deliver them. You can turn this off at any time in your browser.
• Technical data. We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address and request times) for security and reliability.

How we use your information

• Create and secure your account.
• Operate pools and leaderboards, and show your name and profile picture to other members of pools you join.
• Send notifications you have opted into.
• Detect, prevent, and address abuse or technical problems.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

How we share information

We share information only with the service providers that run Soccerdex on our behalf:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and storage of your account and pool data.
• Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
• Google — authentication when you choose “Sign in with Google”.
• Browser push services (such as Google, Mozilla, and Apple) — only to deliver notifications you enable.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law.

Google user data

Soccerdex’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We request only basic profile information — your name, email address, and profile picture — and use it solely to create your account and identify you within pools. We do not request access to any other Google services.

Cookies

We use only the essential cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account and pools are active. To delete your account and the data associated with it, email us at soccerdexinfo@gmail.com and we will remove it.

Children

Soccerdex is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date shown above.
